Officers from the Seattle Police department started assisting with the coaching, development, and mentorship of youth from the Rainier Beach track and field program in 2019. Officers work hand in hand with Rainier Beach coaches during weekend practices to run warm up drills, teach field events (shot put, javelin, high jump, and long jump), and demonstrate how to improve running speed and endurance.
