Mentorship groups were established to build relationships between officers and youth, perform service events, participate in recreational activities, and build confidence and leadership qualities. Officers meet with mentorship group members weekly, and groups have varied activities. For example, groups have participated in several community service projects, as well as attended Mariners games, Seahawks games, the annual Shop with a Cop holiday event, and much more. Members from the various mentorship groups have also traveled to Washington DC to participate in the National PAL conference.
Youth who are 14 years and older are encouraged to join the Police Explorer Group.
