The basketball program includes weekly developmental leagues, summer camp rotations, and special events. The leagues have been established to give officers and youth time to work on individual skills in the sport, bond, and enjoy meals together at the conclusion of each practice and scrimmage.
Special events occur approximately once per quarter. These include several one time events such as 3 vs. 3 and 5 vs. 5 games at Rainier Beach Community Center. Youth and officers play along side each other and against each other in friendly tournaments to promote health and fitness, positive youth and police interactions, and quality community center programs for Seattle youth
Summer camps are run in conjunction with Seattle PAL officers and Seattle City Youth Interns. During these events. officers and interns teach the basics of the sport during summer day camp programs.
